KENYA: New law for having maximum wives.
According to the media reports, the new law has been introduced in the region of Kenya that a men can have as many wives as much he wants without consulting his existing wife.
The law has been opposed by the citizens of the state as its is totally opposite to the religious custom and values.
It is reported that the new marriage bill, which got votes from the male MPs, bans marriage for those under 18, makes all marriage registration mandatory and specifies that marriage is between a man and a woman, but does not explicitly ban custom of an infertile woman marrying a younger woman.
According to the sources, the bill wasn’t welcomed by the female MPs, who argued that such a decisionwould affect the whole family, including the financial position of other spouses.
