ISLAMABAD: The government has provided 40 billion rupees to the power sector in a bid to enhance power generation and reduce load shedding.
According to the sources, Finance Ministry officials said in Islamabad that out of this amount Rs 23 billion were released to PSO to improve its cash flows. The remaining 17 billion rupees were provided to the power companies for payments to the banking sector.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had directed the relevant quarters to ensure uninterrupted power supply at Sehr, Iftar and Traveeh and avoid un-announced load shedding
