ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has disowned the decision of suspending licenses of three Geo Network channels.
PEMRA office released a press release soon after their three private members talk to media about suspending Geo’s licenses including Geo News, Geo Tez, and Geo TV.
The press release states that the actions / decisions taken in the meeting with only five members out of twelve were unauthorized as this type of decision cannot be taken in a meeting of just five members.
It was termed that yesterday’s PEMRA meeting with only five members and the briefing to the media outside its office has no legal standing.
