 KARACHI: A woman was forced to give birth to a baby boy out of Outpatient Department (OPD) of Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) today morning, due to the carelessness of doctors.
According to the sources, the woman was brought in Obstetricians & Gynecology Ward-III of CHK in the early hours of today, with pregnancy related pain but the ward administration asked the woman and her husband to get OPD receipt first for admission to the ward.
The woman and her husband were forced to wait for the opening receipt counter; the woman had to stand in a long queue at the hospital where her condition got serious due to severe delievery pain. The woman was shifted to a nearby washroom where she gave birth to a baby boy, the source said and added that the hospital administration later shifted the woman.
Medical Superintendent CHK Prof Muhammad Saeed Qureshi confirmed this incident in the hospital and said that the administration would conduct inquiry into it. He said the name of woman could not be disclosed over privacy matter.
