FACEBOOK: Aerospace and communications experts are hired to beam the internet connectivity.

According to the media reports, the world’s No.1 social network is now hiring communication experts from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab in order to enhance the internet connectivity.

The Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said in a post on Facebook that:

“Today, we’re sharing some details of the work Facebook’s Connectivity Lab is doing to build drones, satellites and lasers to deliver the internet to everyone.”

The post further added that:

“Our team has many of the world’s leading experts in aerospace and communications technology, including from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab and Ames Research Center.”

Similarly, Google announced plans last year to use solar-powered balloons to deliver Internet access to remote regions of the world.

So, Facebook is launching the new Connectivity Lab, which is particularly working on the Internet connectivity systems that involve technology like “high-altitude long-endurance planes, satellites and lasers.” The idea is to harness technology that can beam to areas that lack Internet infrastructure.
