An email was sent to human rights centre of Supreme Court of Pakistan by a Pakistani citizen named Ali Khan. In this email Ali Khan informed about the condition of Pakistani people detained at the deportation centre of Saudi Arabia for about 03 months.
In the complaint the court was informed that there were some incidents where some of the Pakistani prisoners died during the detention. Foreign Ministry in this regard did not take any step to resolve this issue. Supreme Court of Pakistan issued a statement, according to which the email said that there over 3000 Pakistani citizens who are detained by Saudi authorities in the detention centres situated in Jeddah but instead of sending them back by deporting them, many of them have been killed.
The email also said that preparation of documents is the task of Pakistani Embassy but due to lack of interest, the case is still pending and people are facing lots of problems in returning to their homeland.
Chief Justice of Pakistan took Suo Moto notice of the email and summoned a report from Foreign Secretary. A week time has been provided to the Foreign Secretary. Once the report is submitted, the court will pursue the case further.
