INDIA: Indian police arrested an elder of a village who ordered for the gang-rape of a 20 year old women in West Bengal state.
According to Indian media Sunil Soren, the village elder, demanded the sexual assault after the family of girl failed to pay a 50,000 rupee ($807) penalty for the illicit relationship.
Police arrested 12 men who were accused of taking part in the rape. In India after every 21 minutes a women is raped on average in 2012 according to National Crime Records Bureau.
