Islamabad: Former President and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Pervez Musharraf is said to have billions of rupees in foreign bank accounts. Earlier, the newspapers had presented news items relating to Musharraf’s assets possessions. The political figure spends hefty amount on his security arrangements and expenditure. Still, he enjoys free treatment from national treasure.  He calls himself a patriotic Pakistani, but ironically, he stands out as a figure that has never paid tax.
According to one of the sources, Musharraf had not paid any form of tax, at least in the past 4 years. For the year 2013, he deposited his tax return. Sources say he had also tried to hide his foreign bank accounts from tax collecting bodies.
For contesting May 2013 elections, he declared his assets worth as Rs 645 million.
His national tax number, NTN is 00187208, as reported by one of the media sources. The figure was expected to pay the tax by 30th June last year, but did not fulfill the obligation.
After over throwing Nawaz Sharif from the power, Pervez Musharraf declared his assets to the masses. He showed himself possessor of few plots and considerable amount. At the time, he also declared himself as the most patriotic and honest man of the country.
