CANBERRA: The Australian High court has nullified it’s decision to allow same sex marriages in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), after allowing it for a few days. (CNN)

The law was passed Thursday, barring any more marriages to take place and nullifying the one’s that have already taken place.
The director for an advocacy group named ‘Australian Marriage Equality’ said,
same-sex-marriageThis is devastating for those couples who married this week and for their families, However, this is just a temporary defeat.
The decision comes in addition to the one, passed in India, making it the second in the Asia-Pacific region, dis-allowing same sex marriages.
Gay rights activists have vowed to continue their fight, shifting the focus to parliament, where they will lobby for changes in the same sex marriage law.
